Bob Bergen was the most giving to the teen anglers when it came to knowledge, unfortunatly those teen anglers in other states only got to talk to him by email but he was always willing to talk about the best way to take care of the resource as well as catch fish. Many Teen Anglers shared his boat for a tournament.
If you have taken the online education lessons then you have been influenced by our Bob Bergen, and we know you as well as we are the better for it.
Bob was a friend to everyone. I was blessed to be able to get him out for a fishing trip not long ago. Teen Anglers had the great fortune to have him involved in volunteering, educatiing and being a pal to so many of the teens over the years.
He will be missed, but remembered for all he contributed!
When Bob was putting together all the New Series of Environmental Sessions for Teen Anglers, he would call and ask "what do you think" 1st he'd talk to Al then me. I really enjoyed talking with him. He was so interesting. You could tell by his voice how much he loved his work! When you read the sessions he wrote..you can hear Bob talking and hear the enthusiaum in each one!!! He couldn't wait to get these up and to the Teens! When the answers to his questions came in I would them on to Bob. He really liked that.
When we were done with the lessons he would talk about his grandkids and how proud he was of them!
He talked alot about his life...it was so interesting. He told us the Bergen family were founders of Bergen County in New Jersey!!! We go there every year.
